I had planned on making Tortellini with Pesto Sauce for dinner, but when we were at Costco this morning, The Husband spied some pork ribs and asked for Brazilian Ribs, so that's what we ended up having.

We're all MORE than ready to go on vacation, and Nicholas cannot wait. He packed a backpack with toys, books and his Leapster. He could not stuff another thing in there if he tried. And between the clothes that both him and The Girlfriend are bringing, you'd think we were going away for a month, instead of just six days! Geesh! In fact, I heard a rumor that The Girlfriend will be changing her clothes on the plane so she is in clothing appropriate for the warmer climate that we'll be arriving in. Apparently, it's a "girl thing." I won't even go into how much clothing she actually got just for the trip! Too funny. So ... there's your first clue as to where we're all heading ... warmer weather! I know, not much of a clue. They'll be more to follow. We're going to a total of 4 different stops, 3 are outside the US, so the kids' passports will get their first few stamps.

Since it's Saturday, it's time for Saturday Sound Bites, to check in on what other food bloggers are talking about:

Click here to see what healthy dessert Chef Michele cooked up this week. It's going on top of my list as soon as we get back... looks delicious!

See what food blogger is going to be on TV on two, yep, TWO shows... go Joanna! I knew her when...

And lastly, check out what Southern treat is cooking up in Lex Culinaria's kitchen.

Weekend Cat Blogging is underway at Eat Stuff and here's our entry, Nicholas getting in one last snuggle with Luke before we leave.

And as always, it's time for Weekend Dog Blogging. For participants, since I will be away, Alicat from Something So Clever has graciously agreed to guest host and will be adding her own special twist. E-mail your permalinks for this week only to her at somethingsoclever01@gmail.com. The "cutest doggy pic" from a USA residing participant will win a copy of Winnie the Pooh's Cookie Book. Send her your permalink by Sunday night, 9 pm, to be included in the round-up. I'll resume hosting as usual the following weekend.

Ok folks, all for tonight. Early wake-up time tomorrow... and you'll get your first clues on our first stop of our trip. There'll be some cookbook incentives for those with the first correct guess, so you'll want to stay tuned all week. In the meantime, go send Ali your Weekend Dog Blogging pictures ... until tomorrow... here's ours:

We're Off!
